Highlights of work as Founding Executive Director of Netiya

  • Established a nonprofit to convert unused land at faith-based institutions for water-wise food production, innovated and ran collaborative food justice programs around LA County. 

  • Launched an Annual Multi-Faith Symposium, catalyzed over 30+ institutional-scale urban food gardens on combined 14 acres in LA, ran community workshops on scaling sustainable systems for water-wise food production and composting of food waste. 

  • Built Board, Executive Council, and an Interfaith Council and a team of interns/volunteers with a base of nearly 2,000 supporters. 

  • Coordinated thirty programs per year to grow local community food sovereignty in resource-challenged and frontline impacted communities.
