Soul Sabbatical

A 7-month Immersive Journey (Jan-July)

Grief. Held.

A seven-month online cohort (Jan-July 2027)

After the unthinkable has happened, your world will never be quite the same. Your body aches, and your heart is depleted.

For those navigating the loss of a loved one, a relationship, health, identity or direction. When you feel numb, overwhelmed, unsafe, mistrustful, or hollowed out - as though you no longer belong —

enter this sanctuary.

Take time to tend what you carry, with a cohort to return to. Face grief without losing connection to yourself or the people beside you.

Designed for those navigating loss — before, during, or after the loss of a loved one, the transition of an identity, mourning a relationship, or a new diagnosis. Are you:

  • Experiencing overwhelm, not quite sure where to turn next

  • Navigating loss(es) and seeking a sacred, grounded support system

  • Longing for structure that honors body-mind, heart, and spirit

  • Craving guidance that is both practical and mystical

  • Ready to meet your grief as alive

  • Generously attuned to other people’s needs often before your own (by necessity or by orientation)

Soul Sabbatical

Grief is held in relationship. Take seven months to tend what you carry, with a cohort to return to. Practice facing grief without losing connection to yourself and the people beside you.

Some losses leave a crater. Our goal is not to fill it, but to sit at its edge and behold its full measure. Other losses change the ground so slowly that one barely notices how hard it has become.

Here, you’ll have the chance to speak of what happened, sit without words, and have your loss acknowledged without being asked to make it smaller. We listen, witness and honor what each person carries. Connection is at the heart of Soul Sabbatical; ritual is one of the ways we make room for it. You return to the same cohort. Accountability means returning to your intentions and the practices you are building, not meeting a deadline for healing. A rhythm of pausing, tending and building.

Your Soul Sabbatical: A 7-Month Journey for Rest, Ritual, and Regeneration

In ancient times, a sabbatical was not a luxury. It was a law of survival.

Farmers were commanded to let the soil lie fallow—to rest the land, to let the Earth breathe again after seasons of extractive harvest.

Both were acts of grace and forms of repair. Grief requires an intensive energy output, care-taking, and overextension. Your nervous system may have become like overworked soil—stripped of minerals, tired from carrying more than it was meant to sustain.

To fallow is to pause.

It is to remember that life continues in the unseen—that regeneration happens in the dark, below the surface, when nothing appears to be growing.

The Soul Sabbatical is a seven-month immersion in the ancient rhythm of rest and renewal. It begins at the threshold of winter—a time to lay down what’s heavy and root deeply into what is true.

A Seven-Month Arc

Your Soul Sabbatical consists of four micro-seasons of grief tending:

Fallow — The Rest | Sow — The Release | Tend — The Listening | Harvest — The Integrating

FALLOW - I guide you into deep stillness to ground, listen, and reflect. This is a season of rest, to compost, and clear.

SOW - I guide you to surrender, scatter, broadcast seed, and breathe into your new reality with specificity and intention. This is a season of possibilities.

TEND - I guide you to cleanse, clear, and set new boundaries. This is a season of nurturing and balancing minerals with customized herbal support for your nervous system, digestion, sleep.

HARVEST - I guide you to unearth what nourishes you and glean wisdom from what has ripened as you create an anchor project. This is a season of integration, and gratitude.

Previous FromSoil2Soul Anchor Projects have varied widely. Some have included growing a fruitful, climate-resilient, memorial garden and ecosystem in harmony with our earth. Some host a Ceremony of Life ritual. Others have written poems and made film shorts to share in community. Your project grows from what matters to you, it’s not an assignment to turn grief into something useful.

“Like a root bound houseplant that has outgrown its pot, we replant so you can regrow, and stretch beyond your confines to get unstuck. We metaphorically trim up the roots of any no-longer-effective coping strategies, add compost to your soil, and find ways to adjust the watering and sunlight so you can find your way toward the light again.”

FromSoil2Soul Sabbatical Testimonials

  • Devorah came into my life in January 2026, at one of the darkest times of my life, after the death of my mother. From the beginning she was a beacon of light that shone into the dark space I was in and with it came warmth, understanding, reassurance and acceptance all flowing from her experience in this field and also her finely honed instinct as to where a person is now and where they might be heading (at their own pace). I work with her multiple times a week over the past year, she combines extensive knowledge of herbs, natural sciences, astronomy, human physiology & psychology to assess, guide and teach from her wise heart with ample doses of empathy and encouragement. Her in-depth knowledge of Jewish mysticism gets woven into safe and supportive spaces she facilitates to help mourners learn grief literacy and grow together. I have benefited greatly from all that I have received from her. I would not be in the lighter place that I am now, engaging my own creativity daily, and speaking in front of large audiences, after my Mother’s passing without her deeply attuned guidance and expertise.
